Oversee store design, development, construction projects across the E.U., which includes new stores and refurbishment of open locations.

Reports to Senior Director, International & High Profile Retail Development

Location: Preferred living in E.U.; expect 8 to 10 days in Cupertino per month; travel approx 60% of time

Responsibilities:
-Real Estate Review: Due diligence review of prospective sites.
-Assist Real Estate Manager with lease negotiations and site review.
-Coordinate renovations or special projects in existing stores.
-Manage New Store construction process from R.E. approval, design development (US Design team partnership), budget generation and qualification, bid process, site layout, contract administration, punch and closeout documents.
-Procure and manage relationships of local architects/engineers/ general contractors.
-Secure approvals/permits from landlords, local agencies, and Apple internal.
-Report project progress to divisions within the company.
-RFP as and contracts for external vendors.
-Coordinate owner furnished items.
-Cost schedule forecasting and management.
-Participant in the development of E.U. Retail Development Team, including interview and coaching process.

Requirements:
-Minimum of bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, or const. management or equivelant.
-5 years minimum experience in Retail Store Development or Construction
-Technically astute: history and experience on very complex and
high-profile interior and exterior developments including retail,
high-end interior, and unique exterior developments.
-Proven experience selecting and overseeing teams of architects/general contractors/vendors
-Highly skilled in construction technologies and practices.
-Proven experience in fast implementation, multiple project role.
-Experience creating proposal requests and negotiating contracts.
-Experience in retail store development (construction) across multiple E.U. countries.
-Proven experience managing project budgets and schedules.
-Successfully lead Store Development (Construction/Design) teams.
-Experience building flagship/ unique locations.
-Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects in various locations simultaneously.
-Successful track record of cost and schedule management.
-Demonstrated success in overcoming obstacles with creative problem solving
skills and positive approach to situations; persistence in the face of
adversity.
- Solid communicator: keeps key stakeholders and others posted with
appropriate levels of detail in a timely manner; speaks and writes clearly and concisely.




Preferences
-Luxury/high-end or innovative retail brand experience
-Foreign language skills
-Experience with U.S. retailer.
