As a busy, expanding mortgage closing software provider with clients across the country, MBS-ProClose has gained a reputation as being a leader in service, closing document compliance and technology in the mortgage industry.
We are looking to employ a mortgage compliance specialist to assist our Compliance & Secondary Marketing Team with research, interpretation and communication of regulations and laws. We prefer the Applicant have a working background in the mortgage industry and a good understanding of mortgage loan programs and products, including lending guidelines. The compliance specialist must have strong interpersonal skills and is responsible for acting as a compliance liaison with investors, clients and staff members.
We will consider Contract Arrangements, Part-Time (Potential to Full-Time) and flexible daytime hours.
Successful Candidates will have the following skills:*Ability to understand and interpret laws and regulations
*Understanding of state and federal regulations as they relate to mortgage lending
*Familiarity with closing documents a plus
*Knowledge of guidelines on Conventional, FHA and VA loans
*Comprehension of FNMA and FHLMC requirements
*Experience with State Housing Authorities a plus
*Compliance certification (preferred but not required)
*Paralegal experience (preferred but not required)
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Computer aptitude, typing and spreadsheet ease
*Keen attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong analytical and decision-making skills
*Ability to perform well independently and/or in a team environment
*Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle numerous projects simultaneously
Primary duties and responsibilities:*Provide compliance related recommendations, communications and guidance to other departments, especially in regards to how it affects loan closings and documents
*Create and maintain data in “user friendly” matrices, spreadsheets and/or announcements for distribution
*Research state and federal regulations as they relate to mortgage lending
*Research RESPA, Truth-in-Lending and Predatory Lending issues
*Submit mortgage documents to the forms department for creation/updates
