Haselden Construction is currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent I in Steamboat Springs, CO.
The Assistant Superintendent directs activities of workers concerned with construction of buildings or other construction projects.
Responsibilities May Include:
Interprets the contract documents to ensure complete conformance with plans and specifications.
Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction.
Confers with subcontractors to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
Confers with superintendent, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Monitors assigned project utilizing Haselden quality control management system.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Directs workers on the most economical and schedule sensitive installation procedures.
In conjunction with Superintendent, inspects the jobsite for safety violations and documents said violations.
Conducts weekly safety meetings and safety inspections as outlined in the safety manual.
Conducts a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to determine correct safety procedures.
Abides by safety rules and regulations.
Investigates all accidents/incidents that occur on assigned jobsites.
Directly supervises non supervisory employees such as carpenters and laborers and directs and schedules subcontractor's work.
Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, subcontractors, or
employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
