Minimum Required Qualifications:
Basic understanding of community radio operations and organization
Experience and familiarity with broadcast studio equipment
Knowledge of audio production techniques, including computer editing & minidisk
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work well with a wide variety of people
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Computer literacy
Capable of working independently
Proper announcing techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in on-air announcing/board operator duties
Previous experience in non-commercial radio station operations
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of community service
Familiarity with basic tools and minor technical troubleshooting & repairs
Previous supervisory experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Under supervision of the General Manager, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for program traffic, technical and broadcast day-to-day tasks at the KZFR studio. Duties will be to:
Coordinate recording/downloading programs from satellite & on-line and preparing for scheduled broadcast
Ensure that all programs, psa's and promotional spots are scheduled and logged
Prepare daily program logs, maintain all operating logs, and act as Chief Operator
Maintain FCC required files pertinent to programming and technical parameters
Write and produce station promotional spots, pledge drive pitches and other event-related publicity
Review equipment trouble reports, following up with chief engineer on repair/replacement status
Assist with routine weekly studio cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment
Manage & oversee production scheduling, equipment check-out, inventory and supplies i.e. CD-Rs, minidisks, headphones, microphones, etc.
Assist programmers with set-up and production of live music in-studio
Facilitate and support production of live remote broadcasts
Train volunteers in technical requirements, operation of control board, and on-air skills, including announcing, production and public affairs hosting
Perform announcer/board operator duties as assigned
Consult with Facilities Committee
Perform other duties as assigned
Time Base: Full-time (30-40 hours a week)
Compensation: $12 per hour plus benefits package
